Scissors to Razors: Achieving the Best Hairstyles with the Right Tools

Ensuring your customers leave with the best haircut is a concern many barbers and salon specialists have on a daily basis. The most commonly needed tools include shears, scissors, clippers, and razors.

When purchasing your tools, make certain that you have a variety available to use, as this will enable you to achieve the best cut for that client with allowance for customization. Additionally, there is a variety found in each type of tool–for example, with shears, the variety in detail is so great, that you can find variations in blades, handles, and types of thumb grips. Regardless of hair type, the key to using any of these tools is to maintain their original sharpness. It is important that you find a reliable professional who has had prior experience with sharpening hair tools to help with the task.

Scissors & Shears
Where an even cut is very important to the overall look, regular sharpened hair scissors are the best tool for the job. Many ergonomic designs are available today making the cutting a much more comfortable process. A popular model is the three-holed handle or the standard two-holed handle with a swivel thumb that allows for greater flexibility when styling. Left-handed scissors are also available. Primary differences between scissors and shears are the size of the blades and handles. Scissors & shears are great for:

  • Clean & even styling
  • Long or short fine hair, tightly coiled or kinky hair
  • Clean, even cuts like bobs and accents like bangs
  • Trims (which may be needed depending on your style)

Thinning Shears
Thinning shears are different from regular shears because instead of having two smooth blades, thinning shears have one smooth blade and another with teeth (with variations in the number & width of teeth). The blade with the teeth goes on top of the hair and the smooth blade goes underneath. Most commonly, wide-toothed thinning shears are used on thick hair as it removes more hair in greater chunks. Reducing the thickness in their hair enables them to more easily style it for everyday wear. Thinning shears are great for:

  • Lightening long, short, straight, or wavy thick hair
  • When creating a layered hairstyle, these can be used for a less “choppy” layered look

Clippers
Clippers come in many sizes, shapes, and motor strengths allowing you to better customize your client’s desired look. The numerous guards a clipper comes equipped with help control how much hair you are taking off. The clipper keeps a consistent blade setting allowing you to clip hair to your client’s desired length.

  • Thick or fine short hair; tightly coiled or kinky hair, afros
  • Extremely short, buzzed type styles, spiky hairdos
  • Bald or nearly bald styles

Razors
Styling razors will most commonly come with a handle for easy maneuvering. The more pricey models have swivel blades on the handles adding flexibility. Replacement blades can be found in any drugstore or beauty supply shop. It is very important to replace the blade of your razor when it is no longer sharp because this ensures a precision cut. Razors should be avoided with curly or frizzy fine-haired clients, as this tool will only create more frizz for them. Razors are ideal for:

  • Straight, thick hair, to achieve pixie cut styles
  • Adding more volume or texture
  • Feathered look that makes clients both look and feel lighter
  • Edgy, angular cuts (which can be softened with the use of scissors)

You will need to use a variety of these tools together to achieve the desired look. The spiky, shaved look, for example, requires the use of clippers for the sides of the head as well as scissors and shears for the feathering style that is on the top of the head.

Careful care and keeping of your equipment will ensure that you will get the most use out of your tools and they will last for a very long time. As mentioned above, sharpening of your tools is highly recommended from time to time as it enhances the tool’s performance. Cleaning your tools ensures the safety of your services and the health of your clients. Remember that attention to detail and clean, safe procedures within your establishment should never be overlooked as it communicates your dedication to the clients’ satisfaction.

Create A Garden And Patio Design To Enjoy Year-Round

Retreat to a garden and patio design that’s beautiful year-round, and takes minimum fuss. What makes this possible? Carefree plants with continuous blooms, and a well-planned garden structure.

You don’t need to be a lawn and garden expert or landscape designer to do this. Here are a few tips for creating a super yet simple garden and patio design that will be a knockout!

The first step is to take a birds-eye view of Your Garden and patio area. Make a rough sketch of your space, and play around with a few designs until you like what you see. As you’re doing this, get some great ideas from existing garden and patio decorations. Pay a visit to other people’s gardens, or public gardens. Look through home landscaping and gardening magazines, find what you like, and develop plans of Your Own.

Decide what style or theme is right for you… formal, casual, rustic, Southwestern, Japanese… there are enormous possibilities. Then stay with that style and theme so the overall effect does not become confusing. For instance, you wouldn’t want to combine bronze garden sculptures of saints or cherubs with rustic wooden Wagon Wheels.

Imagine what your patio area will most often be used for. You may plan to entertain lots of outdoor dinner guests. If so, be sure your patio space has plenty of room for the largest number of people right from the beginning. Your patio may be more of a private, reflective retreat for enjoying the sun, reading a book, or gazing up at the stars. Determine the use of shade, open sun, or even covering it with a roof.

Now take your favorite ideas and put them into your rough plans – and soon you’ll have a design that is ready for action.

The next step is to create your garden and patio design to scale – you can use landscaping software for this, or do it by hand. Choose the flowers you intend to plant, noting how many you will need for each month of your growing season, and select the landscaping structures that will give your design its form.

Some say the secret to a beautiful garden and patio design is having a good amount of hard structure. This is what landscape designers refer to as “good bones” – walls, fences, garden bridges, gates, garden arbors, landscape statues, garden fountains … even a strong line of evergreen plants.

Garden structures such as these create forms and lines, giving your garden and patio design definition and dimension. Plus, in the winter when most plants are empty and bare, your garden will preserve its shape and sense of completeness. It’s amazing how just one or two structures can produce this satisfying effect.

Most Garden and landscaping structures are built to withstand the elements. Treated pine, cedar and teak garden furniture, trellises, arbors, and decorative fencing are great choices. Stone, copper, and bronze garden statuary will never let you down. Garden fountains bring incredible beauty and atmosphere to any garden and patio design – in fact, entire gardens have been built around them.

Next, choose annual spring flowers and perennial plants that will give you blooms from one season to the next. For instance, select carefree roses that need no pruning or spraying, and bloom continuously from spring through fall. Fill planters with beautiful blooming flowers such as Oriental lilies or verbena for different colors all summer long. Establish flower beds in corners or along walk ways. Always consider your local climate and plant according to the sun and shade needs of your plants.

As you plan your garden and patio design, create paths or walk ways that lead from one area to the next. Rambling garden paths are relaxing and charming… and if laid out thoughtfully, will be a big help to you as the gardener. Paths can be of stone, brick, flagstone, gravel, or mown turf, although grass paths require more upkeep. Garden sculptures or sitting benches thoughtfully placed along the way provide wonderful expression.

If you want garden and patio designs that are pre-drawn, there are ready-made plans available in books and magazines. This is another fine way to get off to a solid start. Use pre-made garden plans from start to finish, or incorporate parts of them right into you own creative plans.

Share Ideas About Water Dispenser and Sprayer

Hot Water Dispenser? Not Essential but Convenient

Instant hot water dispensers can be a great convenience for those who need quick access for things like coffee or soup. However, it takes only a minute or two more to heat your water in the microwave. Accessories such as instant hot water dispensers are a fancy touch to add to your kitchen for extra convenience. There are many kitchen appliances to choose from that I have not mentioned here. Popular and smaller items such as blenders, coffee makers, espresso machines, mixers, egg timers and more are great items to own, though not essential. Whatever kitchen appliances you choose to purchase for your kitchen, make sure they are in high quality condition and will be long lasting for your convenience.

Fancy Water Dispenser Out there: Can You Imaging

Golf Bag Drink Dispenser

One of the most convenient ways of keeping a cool drink handy while playing golf is by using a golf bag drink dispenser. These drink dispensers are made to go inside a golf bag and even look like a golf club. The golf bag drink dispenser will keep drinks cool long enough to complete a round of golf, which is very good for a golfer who has spent several hours in the hot sun and needs a refreshing drink once finishing his or her game. The golf bag drink dispenser is Very Handy to use since it works with a pump, so it works like a fountain drink dispenser instead of having to pour the drink, which can be very inconvenient while playing golf. Along with keeping cold drinks cold, these golf bag drink dispensers also keep warm drinks warm, perfect for golfers who love to golf in cooler temperatures. This is very useful compared to having to carry a thermos full of coffee or hot chocolate around while playing golf. Having a hot drink available also makes the game more enjoyable since the golfer is not thinking about being cold! These drink dispensers do run on batteries, but one set should last the entire golf session, depending of course on how often it is used by the golfer, a back up set of batteries wouldn’t be a bad idea to have on hand. Anytime a person plans to spend a lot of time outside whether to play golf or any other activity, especially in warmer temperatures, it is important to stay hydrated with cool liquids, regardless of how the liquid is contained. Of course, there are many ways of keeping cool liquids nearby, whether carrying a bottle of a cool drink, using a backpack drink dispenser or for those that play golf, a golf bag drink dispenser.

Bottled Water Dispensers

Bottled water dispensers are an excellent choice for homeowners, who prefer to own and not rent a water dispenser. Currently available are also the terra cotta models, stone ware and mini coolers with hot and cold faucets. All the customer needs is to buy 5 gallon bottles or fill them up at home if a purifier is available. These dispensers are also available in the portable or Counter Top models. One major disadvantage with the bottled water dispenser is the maintenance. In the event the water cooler is not in regular use, or during summer months when the temperatures are higher, the clear fresh taste of bottled water might be difficult to achieve. Proper care of the bottled water and of the dispensers has to be a priority.

Hot Water Dispenser Installation

To install a hot-water dispenser, the sink top Must Have a hole that can receive the spout. Most hot-water dispensers are installed during kitchen remodeling in new sinks that have the proper number and configuration of holes. Though retrofits can be a little bit tricky, they’re not impossible. If your sink has a sprayer, you may be able to remove the sprayer and use the hole that it occupied. Or, if your sink has a separate spout for purified water, you can replace that one with a hot-and-cold model as explained above. Or check to see if the sink has an extra hole that hasn’t been punched out yet. In a real pinch, you can have a plumbing contractor drill a hole in Stainless Steel or porcelain–though you risk cracking porcelain.

Adding Versatility to the Faucets by Installing a Sink Sprayer

Turn off the water by closing the valves under the sink. Make sure the faucet can handle a sink sprayer. The faucet will have a capped opening beneath it. Remove the cap; Remove the soap dispenser or previous sprayer with a basin wrench; Insert the holder for the sprayer, and tighten the nut from beneath the sink. Feed the hose through the opening in the holder. Attach the hose to the connection under the faucet.

Repairing and Replacing a Kitchen Sink Sprayer

If you have a sprayer on your kitchen sink, you know how handy they are. If your sprayer is not working properly, you’re definitely aware of how handy they are, and you’re probably very annoyed that yours isn’t working anymore! When your sprayer is clogged, it is simple to repair. All you have to do is buy CLR or a similar product that removes build up. This is a pretty strong chemical, so it’s a good idea to wear gloves when you work with it. Dilute it according to the directions, using hot water. It’s a good idea to use a small glass instead of a plastic or metal container. Simply soak your sprayer head (still attached) in the solution for the recommended time, rinse it with hot water, then spray. It should be good as new!

Broken Sprayer Head and How to Replace the Sprayer Head and Hose

You might find it difficult or impossible to push the lever on your sprayer head. It might even be broken and constantly pushed down. If it’s getting harder and harder to push, it will eventually break. You might as well save yourself the inconvenience and replace it now. The whole spray head will unscrew from the plastic fixture that connects it to the hose. Take that off, and then remove the plastic gasket. If your sprayer “screams†or whistles when you use it, you probably have a hose problem. You can either buy just a replacement hose or the whole unit, including a new Sprayer head. If your sprayer is old, get the whole unit. It will save you time and trouble as the sprayer head is usually already attached. First, turn off the water supply to the kitchen sink. You will see little faucets under the sink. One is the hot water supply and one is the cold. Turn both all the way to the right. You will see where the Sprayer Hose is connected to the plumbing. Disconnect it. Next, look up to the place directly under where the sprayer is located on your sink. There should be a simple nut. Loosen it so you can remove the little sleeve that surrounds the sprayer opening. Take out the old hose. Replace it with the new one by feeding it through the sleeve. In some situations, you might have to disconnect the sprayer head to fit through the sleeve. Reconnect the sprayer to the plumbing, tighten the nut under the sprayer, and turn the water supply back on. Now test out your new sprayer, you do-it-yourself god or goddess!

Choosing the best hunting knife

Choosing the best hunting knife can be a very tricky decision. There are a lot of different factors that can make or break a hunting knife depending on the specific use you intend for it. Some of the choices you will have to make are just your personal preferences, but others are important in making sure the knife functions well for your specific style of recreational activities.

The handle

One of the most important qualities of a knife is the handles grip strength and level of safety. There are many traditional knife handle materials that may not be the best choice for multi function hunting knives. Some of the more traditional materials such as wood, bone, molded plastic, or even leather, can be smooth to the touch and very slippery when wet with rain, sweat, or blood. This can cause unsafe grip strength and lead to serious injuries. For higher grip strength under these conditions, you may consider some of the newer materials being used in the manufacturing of top quality knives. Both rubber and composite material can give you a safer grip, and are very durable in even the most unfavorable conditions. The newer materials are also being manufactured in more colors, and textures to give them a more stylish look.

The type of knife

There are two main styles of knives that hunters can choose from: the fixed Blade Knife or the folding knife. Both styles offer their own unique set of benefits, and challenges. Choosing between the two will have a lot to do with the specific type of hunting that you do. This decision will also be based on your personal preferences in how you prefer to carry your knife, and if you want it accessible to both hands.

Folding knives frequently come available with a one handed opening feature by utilizing a small thumb lever, or a hole in the blade to put the thumb into. This makes the knife usable with either hand, and increases the mobility of the hunter. Folding knives also have a lock feature that increases safety during use. These knives are generally smaller in size and fit neatly into a pocket or small belt sheath. Many folders also come equipped with a pocket or Belt Clip so they can be worn on the outside of clothing for quicker access. Folding knives are great for everyday use as well, but because of their smaller size, may not be the best choice for larger game or survival techniques.

Fixed blade knives do not have a hinge to fold with, so they are usually stronger under stressful conditions. The blade is made from a solid piece of metal that extends into the handle. Always being in the open position can increase speed and ease of use when working with just One Hand. Fixed blade knives are carried in a belt, leg, boot, or sometimes a lower arm sheath. Which sheath works the best for you will depend on the specific type of game you are hunting, and the type of clothing worn. Fixed blade knives are almost always the best choice for hunting larger game and deep woods camping.

The Blade

The clip point blade has a more traditional work knife design with the blade only curving near the end of the blade. The drop point knife has a slow curve to the blade that lowers the tip for control and strength. Both knives are curved to make skinning easy but the drop point is better for a dedicated hunting knife. It allows more precision for cleaning and butchering larger or smaller game. The clip point is better for a multipurpose work or back woods knife.

Other options are available to choose from on hunting knife blades. One of these is the gut hook. The gut hook is used to open game up with less risk of puncturing the guts and possibly damaging the meat. Having a small section of the blade serrated is useful for cutting jobs such as separating a rib cage or cutting synthetic materials.

Wrap up

So before you buy your next hunting knife do your research. Sit down and ask yourself a few questions about what your expectation are for the knife. Then hit the back woods and have some fun.

Clickbank Ad Rotator – Will This be the Replacement of Google Adsense? Find Out Now

Clickbank Ad Rotator is a simple and effective way of increasing and maximise the earnings that you are able to make on your website. Clickbank ad rotator is a brand new software development developed this year and as I have reviewed the software my self I can definitely say its worth buying. Let me explain what the benefits of using Clickbank ad rotator are and why I feel its definitely worth getting.Firstly what is Clickbank ad rotator it is a software package which allows you to fully optimise and customise your advert boxes which can then be copy and pasted on to your website. The advertising boxes look simple and professional and you have full control of the colours, width, height, text and much more. The clickbank ad rotator adverts are optimised through the keywords you pick. Clickbank ad rotator is able to crawl through clickbank’s own database of over 10,000 products to find the most relevant and targeted by using your keywords. This allows you to promote the most relevant products to your website viewers.Doesn’t this sound great, however not just this. Clickbank ad rotator is updated daily through clickbanks database to pick up every new product listing and every product listing which has been deleted or disappeared. There is no hassle of creating a database or coding Your Own adverts its so simple a baby could do it, seriously it is. All you need to do is copy and paste. That’s it.Clickbank ad rotator allows you to maximise earnings on your website because instead of paying you cents clickbank ad rotator pays you per sale and the commission is big! We are talking about 50-70% commission for you.Lets take a look at an example:Say you have 100 clicks through your clickbank ad rotator on your website you receive $50 commission on a $100 product, thats a 50% commission which is quite low for clickbank. If you just receive 5 sales through those 100 clicks that’s a 5% conversion rate which again is relatively low you will earn $250 commission off just 5 sales and 100 clicks. You wouldn’t get anything like that with any other advertising program.

How do the new Excalibur rotating treble hooks compare with the old? (bass fishing)?

I am a huge fan of the old Excalibur rotating treble hooks and think they are the finest ever made. I have them on nearly all of my bass fishing hardbaits. Now that they have a new version, I can’t find the old style any more. Are the new hooks as good (and as sharp) as the old?

THERE REALLY IS NO BIG NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE, IF YOU CAN FIND THE OLD ONES THEY WORK JUST AS WELL.
