Help with a theme?
I am trying to figure out a theme for our church services. It is called the ignite service. We play Christian music, but it is alternative rock. We have all our windows covered, so it is dark in there. I am needing help on how to set things up over there. We have couches and tables and chairs. How should we decorate the tables. The walls are painted dark red and black. What should we put on the walls. There is black material over the windows, so it stays kinda dark in there. It is called the ignite service, because it is like igniting a fire inside you for God. Like our main service, is like a vineyard, with grapes and the colors green and purple. Can someone please offer some ideas. I do not want the ignite side to be at all like the vineyard side, because the two services are different, so the rooms should be different. Thank you in advance =0)
First off…very interesting concepts on design for a church. Not in a bad way either. I’ve always found that you can help the mood by creating the right environment.
On that note, You don’t want the environment to come across as…”hellish” lol. Keep with the dark theme. But don’t go all Red, Yellow, Orange on yourself. That will just convey firey evilness (unless that’s the goal, then go for that lol)
Keeping away from the vineyard feel of the other service, I would stear clear of purple. But I would go for maybe some more deep red and some deep blues. Don’t be afraid to add some brighter colors too though. Don’t use white, because the contrast will be too much. But pick some shades of the colors already in the room that are lighter and brighter.
Carry your theme through the table clothes, pillows, maybe some throw rugs. Also try to find some center pieces for the tables or some wall decor (pictures, posters, random objects).
Hope I helped. Good luck, I’m sure it’ll look good nomatter what you do. Just remember that you’re creating an environment for sharing God’s word…make it good
