IT has long been one of my pleasantest anticipations to look forward to the time when I might offer to you, my old and dear friend, some such acknowledgment of the value I place on your affection for me, and of my grateful sense of the many acts of kindness by which that affection has been proved, as I now gladly offer in this place. In dedicating the present work to you, I fulfil therefore a purp…

Any advice on getting the seed planted?

Girls I am hoping this is my month! I was just wondering if any of you had any advice to help things along. This will be baby #3, however, I am having more trouble than ever before. I had an IUD after #2 and had no periods. It has taken forever to get them back and they are still very irregular. I used to be like clockwork. Anyway, so I am not sure of the exact date of ovulation but I figure we will do the deed every day next week. Last period was July 16. Also my blood work showed a marker for having PCOS. Never had to deal with that before either. So any thing I can do to help things along?

Just monitor your ovulation the best you can! There are test sticks, similar to pregnancy tests, you can get at the drugstore that measure where you are in your cycle and estimate when you’ll be ovulating. Go at it as often as possible during those days, haha!
Also, if you don’t want to buy a test, you can try and figure out when you’re going to ovulate by your cervical discharge. When it’s thick and sticky, you’re less likely to conceive, but when it’s runny and slippery, it means you’re close to ovulation.

I’ve also heard that taking prenatals makes you more fertile, if you aren’t already taking them. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep and nutrition as well. Sometimes your body will ovulate, but the egg won’t get fertilized because your body is under too much stress or doesn’t have enough vitamins at the time of ovulation (This makes it really hard for some women to conceive.)
